ALMØST HUMAN – XS2XTC (Fast Ball / Rock Inc.)

Review by officer Nice: Last I was watching some old clips on the Youtube channel. Old Nazareth, old Deep Purple, old Black Sabbath, old Foreigner and some other Seventies and Eighties bands that changed my life forever. I often wonder what would have happened if Metal didn’t become a part of my life. Don’t you wonder? Can you even imagine a life without Hard Rock and Heavy Metal? I actually can’t although I have seen the scène changing…like I saw the world changing.

In my hand I have a record from a modern band, a formation that listens to the name of Almøst Human. This is the band’s debut album, released at the end of 2018. Fans of modern Metal and a sniff of Nu Metal, in a melodic blender, might find this record interesting. It is full of groovy riffing, hard hitting drums and exaggerating energetic arrangements. This band touches the boundaries of the more extreme kind of Metal and overall sounds modern. On the other hand this Swiss formation was able to put some dark mood into their music. It is the kind of band that is able to please the new generation of Metal fans although, thanks to the melodic approaches, even the old lads might like this one. The keyboards, that are often mixed in the back, are highly appreciated because they make this band sound pretty unique.

This band produces a true wall of sound and it’s rather impossible to deny them. I can’t say it’s my cup of tea but in a fast changing world Almøst Human delivers a product that really deserves your attention. I can easily imagine how this band is able to set a festival on fire. I wouldn’t even be surprised if this band gets the attention of the big crowd. Almost Human is never boring and they are offering a varied release. The fact they are changing the mood all the way is responsible for it. Almøst Human is after all a pretty technical band and especially the drum parts are impressive to hear. The aggressive vocals and dynamic arrangements are responsible for the fact this band sucks you into their energy. Check it out at:

My rating: 82/100 (Good in its own genre, recommended for those hooked on it)
