Review by Holger B.: Ever wanted to hear an example of a quantum leap in the release of a new album? Then get the 2007 “The Dawn of Enlightenment” (if it does not already exist) and listen to it. Then please have a look at the new CD “Empyrean Realm”.

You are guaranteed to fold down the jaw. Although I already liked the predecessor, it is hard to believe that this is one and the same band. Of course, all the musicians involved have mastered their instruments excellently on the predecessor, but the sticking point lies elsewhere. And in the much better songwriting. Everything is just right here. Ears flattering melodies, well-balanced tempo (sometimes fast, but not as on the previous album Italo Metal Affin) and, above all, a high recognition value make this disc so beautiful.

Especially vocalist Adam Kurland sings like a young god and is in no way inferior to the vocalists of big bands like STRATOVARIUS, SONATA ARCTICA, EDGUY, KAMELOT and others. In phases it even sounds like Nils K. Rue of PAGAN’S MIND. Not a bad reference.

My rating: 85/100 (Good in its own genre, recommended for those hooked on it)
